Epidote

Epidote is a member of the sorosilicate group. As such, it’s silicate backbone is made up of duotetrahedral silicate units; that is, two silicate tetrahedra are polymerized together by corner bonding. Epidote is monoclinic with a prismatic or tabular habit.

Distribution

Characteristically found in alpine regions.
